In an instant, the surroundings changed.

He had warped from a colorless space to a secluded forest of unknown location.

Without a hint of surprise, Ryu Min pulled up the quest progress window.

<Nickname / Face / Distance from Self>

[SoonSakTurtle / Face / 602m]

[RoseStone / Face / 828m]

[Meteos / Face / 1,029m]

[NoRegretsLife / Face / 1,182m]

……

…

[Current remaining players: 143]

[Time left until round ends: 71:59:55]

Just as the angel had said, the window displayed nickname, face, and distance.

It was convenient to view since the players were sorted by proximity.

‘So everyone got scattered.’

Even when using a detection skill with a 500m radius, no players were in sight.

The fantasy world was as vast as South Korea, and there were only 143 players—it was only natural not to see anyone.

‘First things first, I should change my appearance.’

Someone might try to track him.

That someone could be Artaros, or it could be a fellow human.

‘Even if changing my face doesn’t necessarily fool Artaros’s tracking, it doesn’t hurt to try.’

Ryu Min, wearing the Assassin’s Mask, had his face ripple and change.

The face he changed to was none other than Hwang Yongmin.

While he was at it, he equipped the Doppelgänger’s Ring and changed his nickname to [Hwang Yongmin] as well.

‘Now, the name “Black Scythe” will show up as [Untraceable] in the list.’

Changing his appearance didn’t remove him from the list.

It would simply display a message saying “Untraceable.”

Because the system tracked based on a registered nickname and face, changing even just one would render tracking impossible.

Ryu Min, cautious of a potential ambush from Artaros, changed both.

‘Even if someone uses a tracking skill, it’ll be the same result.’

With this, no one could track him.

He had become completely free.

‘It’s uncomfortable having to walk around with Hwang Yongmin’s face, but it doesn’t matter. As long as I can avoid others tracking me.’

Of course, no sane person would try to track Black Scythe.

But there’s no guarantee there aren’t any crazy players.

‘Who knows? Some lunatic might try to ambush me while hunting.’

Killing him would not only reduce the number of players but also grant them control rights, so someone might attempt it.

Even in a previous round, Ma Kyung-rok and Ju Seong-tak tried to kill him.

‘Though the situation was different back then.’

Only three had survived at that point, and there was only one survivor spot left.

So it was logical that the two collaborated to eliminate the strongest player—Ryu Min.

Even Ryu Min considered it a rational decision.

‘But in the end, they were the ones who died.’

No matter how strong they were—Ma Kyung-rok and Ju Seong-tak, who had ranked 2nd and 3rd—they couldn’t overcome Ryu Min alone.

Let alone now, when he was thousands of times stronger than in that previous round.

‘It’s like a fly picking a fight with an elephant.’

Even so, when a fly buzzes in front of its face, it’s still annoying for the elephant.

So for peace of mind, it was more comfortable for Ryu Min to hunt in a different appearance.

‘First, I’ll have to start hunting.’

With a kick into the air, Ryu Min soared upward and came to a halt as if defying gravity.

Thanks to his Eternal Equipment, he could step on air.

‘So this is between the Kingdom of Albiz and the Kingdom of Decan.’

While surveying the surrounding scenery, Ryu Min confirmed his location and turned his gaze.

That direction was where stronger monsters would appear.

After deciding on a direction, he ran through the sky as if it were the ground.

BOOOOM—!

A sonic boom instantly closed the distance.

***

The 19th round quest seemed simple at first glance.

All you had to do was survive for 72 hours.

‘But you won’t understand until you try it yourself—just how hard it is to survive three days.’

There’s a so-called 3-3-3 Rule.

You can survive 3 minutes without air, 3 days without water, and 3 weeks without food.

And now, they were being told to survive 3 days without food or water?

‘It’s not an easy mission. Much harder than it looks.’

Of course, that didn’t mean there was no food or water at all.

Although this world was created to raise players, it was still a tangible, existing world.

The people who looked like NPCs were practically real, and their lives and environments were similar to reality.

‘Even the avatars are made identical to real human bodies, right?’

So even though they were artificially made, the avatars could feel hunger and other basic bodily needs.

It wasn’t like a game where nothing affected you.

‘That doesn’t mean you can eat just anything.’

In the past, Ryu Min once tried to stave off hunger by eating a fruit from a tree.

‘No, it was something that looked like a fruit.’

A few hours later, his intestines were turned upside down.

He once drank water from a creek too, but his skin broke out and vision went black like he’d been poisoned.

‘The worst, though, was monster meat.’

Once, starving, he carved meat off a monster he’d killed and roasted it—only to suffer from intestinal pain until the round ended.

Thanks to that experience, Ryu Min could say with conviction:

Don’t eat anything in this world.

‘Sure, towns probably have edible food and water, but…’

The problem was that towns were protected by a barrier, making them inaccessible.

Aside from that, players could roam freely, but finding anything edible was next to impossible.

After all, this quest was about enduring through sheer willpower.

‘There’s nothing to do but endure the 72 hours, minimizing movement and conserving energy.’

But if it were that easy, it wouldn’t be the 19th-round quest.

If you let your guard down, you might get stabbed in the back by another player at any time.

You had no choice but to keep moving while avoiding others.

However, aside from the towns, most areas were monster zones.

The monsters varied in strength depending on the region, but they were just as dangerous as other players.

‘Even at level 90 and above, numbers can overwhelm you.’

When outnumbered by monsters, you’d either die or be exhausted.

Of course, this didn’t apply to Ryu Min.

THUD— THUD—!
